It's hard for me to determine if I am helping or hindering recovery. I would like to hear from others what is helpful and/or other suggestions. Thank you!
Thank you for your comment, @A MyDepressionTeam Member. It's always good to get a different perspective.
Is it used for help you sleep I have been taking this since 2006 what I have insomnia??
Ya, they can be a problem. They're basically antihistamines and they aren't good for you. They dry you out and I read something about them and Alzheimer's. I've been on Vistaril which is a… read more
Like many of us, I have been treated for Major Depressive Disorder with anxiety for many years, decades in fact, with almost no help from multiple drug types as well as the Fisher-Wallace Stimulator and ECT. Now I'm investigating a trial of ketamine from the closest physician I can find (in TX, about 3-4 hours drive from my home in SW OK). However, before choosing a ketamine physician I'd like to talk with as many of us as possible who have already been treated with ketamine to learn if it's… read more
My psychiatrist and I are considering embarking on the long ECT journey, but I'm wondering if anyone here has actually had it? I'm treatment resistant major depressive disorder, would appreciate hearing anyone's experience!
I had it a few years back. It affected my short term memory for a while but as time passed it got better. If you’re not getting better with medication I would do it.
Jolie I am glad you feel safe and are enjoying MDT because what is shared here stays here and that is a place we all need.
Started TMS this week, 3 treatments so far. Those of you that found TMS helpful in treating your Depression, about how long did it take to start feeling a difference? I know everyone is different, but it would be nice to hear any feelings or time frames on how long it took to start feeling better. Thank you!
I'm interested in knowing if an increased dose of medicine also takes several weeks to take effect like when you first start using citalopram you have to wait 4-6 weeks for a response from your body.
Thanks Julie
I feel like I'm suffocating in my feelings.
Outside there I have to wear this mask that makes me appear happier but alone I take off the mask.
Sometimes I just snap at people thats why I prefer to be alone. They don't know about this mental illness I have so I'd rather carry this burden alone.😢
Actually you are not your thoughts or emotions step back watching them in your body this helps me😊
I have had good experiences from previous ECT treatments. I am on maintenance treatments now (every 5 weeks) but it has not been a good experience...I have a "foggy brain" and memory loss and I fear I have had too many sessions and this has caused brain damage...please inform...my psychiatrist has not been very helpful...I fear he does not know a lot about ECT...he just doesn't listen to me...even when I say "this is my brain...my life." Is ECT the cause of my "foggy brain" (I seem to be in a… read more
