But on my doctor and iPad plenty of conversations about this one. I cannot take melatonin or magnesium actually because it contains magnesium won't take ambient again, so if he's never really a loss of things to do but I'm going to get through it one way sugar another because I will always get through whatever it is that is causing me issues because I won't let it control me. Thank you guys for being here and I'll be back thanks a lot

You are absolutely not alone in this! You are absolutely not alone in this! So many people managing depression experience exactly what you're describing — that exhausting cycle of struggling to fall asleep, waking repeatedly, and then feeling wiped out all day. As one MyDepressionTeam member put it, "I feel tired all the time but can't sleep at night!" It's a frustrating loop that so many can relate to.

The daytime sleepiness is also very common with depression itself, not just the sleeplessness. It's nothing to be embarrassed about — it's a real symptom. Here are some approaches that may help:

- Talk to your doctor about medication options — some antidepressants like trazodone can double as sleep aids
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is a non-medication approach with strong evidence behind it
- Keep a consistent sleep schedule — same bedtime and wake time every day, even weekends
- Limit caffeine, especially in the afternoon and evening
- Short naps only — if napping during the day, keep it to 20–30 minutes max and not too late
- Get outdoor light exposure during the day to help regulate your body's sleep-wake cycle

Always check with your doctor before starting, stopping, or changing any medications. Some sleep aids can interact with antidepressants in risky ways.
