Members shared many helpful strategies for overcoming sleep deprivation, including reading physical books, drinking chamomile or decaf tea, and using meditation or calming YouTube videos like thunderstorm playlists. Several members mentioned medications such as melatonin, trazodone, and hydroxyzine, with a recurring theme being the importance of cutting screen time before bed to help the brain wind down. A few members also noted practical tips like buying generic sleep aids to save money and looking into sleep hygiene articles for additional guidance.

I find reading before bed and a cup of chamomile tea the most helpful for me. But due to a recent med change, I'm getting to sleep better without melatonin, so I've weaned myself off of it.

My sleep doctor told me to get Natrol Melatonin tablets that go under your tongue. Sublingual I think. He said most of the other brands are not regulated and there are a few that regulate themselves. I tried tons of others and it didn't work but the natrol ones did work for me.
