I have a counseling appointment with a social worker. I have concerns because I have tried social workers in the past. When was the vocational rehab counsclaire she had B.A In Social work. The other social worker experience was advocating for the latino community.

I am told that social workers are supposed to have an MA to do counseling but I don't know the extent of their education in mental health.

Yes, my little 37 yr. old daughter has a Masters of Social Work, as does her husband, and they have a therapy practice together, Sandy!! . . Peace and love. .

Licensed clinical social workers (LCSW) are trained in both social work and counseling, and are licensed to provide mh services.
