I have had depression and anxiety for years, and I have had a hard time keeping a job due to the hours and demanding physical needs. Most days my head and body aches and I can't seem to get out of bed, and Seasonal Affectiveness Disorder makes it worse. Does anyone know of resources to get help with this? I live alone and need help. I don't want to NOT work, but I can't seem to work full time hours needed for a job that pays my bills.
hi erin......i have a degree in social work but after my manic breakdown i didnt go back to the job and was fired. goodwill is a great place for job training and the counselors are very personable and do their very best to place you in a job while under their umbrella. these jobs are meant to be temporary which could be a year but there were people i worked with who had been in the program for 30 years. all depends on your growth and if or when you feel ready they will assist in the transfer to a new employer. if you feel you are not able to work apply for social security disability. i fought for 3 years so it takes time,
My Sister used Goodwill. But they werent very good here in Chatham ,ON Canada at getting back to her or helping her much. But the Canadian Mental Health Association my sister says also has a Job Counselor that can help you. I'm sure you can ask them.
I will thank you.
I've had CBT before and worked pretty well tbh. I was transferred for CBT by my go, maybe bring it up next time your there 🙂
I am not sure I have. There may have been a bit of that when I was in a mental unit of a hospital 2 years ago, but I was only there about 8 days so it wasn't long enough to be impact.
