The reason I am asking was to see if there is any correlation between low Vitamin D levels in the blood and my depression getting worse
My body has difficulty absorbing Vitamin D from sunlight(although in the North of England we don't get enough) and diet
I am now taking 20,000 iu of Vitamin D3 daily and I feel like it's helped my depression slightly.
Apparently vitamin D helps with brain function as well as helping our bodies to absorb dietary calcium.

My primary doctor put me on Vitamin D3 after blood work showed my levels were low. I haven't been on it long enough to tell any difference in how I feel mentally/emotionally or physically. I am going to ask her and my psychiatrist is their cause and effect.
I am in Canada and we too have little sunlight from October to May which triggers my depression. I have also heard vitamin D can be good for those suffering from depression and if it seems to be working for you that is excellent news.
