Losing a parent is one of the hardest things a person can go through, and it makes complete sense that grief, combined with depression, can make things that used to matter — like voting — feel pointless. That feeling of "what's the point?" is really common with depression.

The frustration about the election situation is completely understandable too. Those feelings are valid.

Here's something worth considering though — depression has a way of making everything feel hopeless and out of our control. That "nothing matters" feeling? That can be a symptom talking, not necessarily reality.

Some things that MyDepressionTeam members have found helpful when feeling this way:

- Reminding themselves that better days are ahead
- Focusing on what they *can* control, even small things
- Setting boundaries around what drains their energy

Whatever is decided about voting, the most important thing right now is managing the depression and grief. Has there been any support — like a therapist or doctor — to help process losing your dad? That loss deserves real attention. 💙
