Hi nightwatcher, I feel ya, and share the feeling, too, as I am homeless and trying my damndest to get out it. . It is really tough as my homeless friend and I have to sleep in my car half of each month as my friend and I can only afford to sleep in a motel room one half of each month . . Trying to find a job is not easy at my age, 69 goin' on 70 in January, so I feel very, very stuck at the moment, friend, and have felt that way for the whole almost 4 and 1/2 years that my friend and I have been out here, since March 2021 yo!! . . Hi thanks, tomodachi!! . . Am on SSDI, yo Carl, and my fellow homeless friend, Joyce, who will be 73 in November (and I will be 70 in January), is on Social Security, so we have income but it ain't enough for the high rents around us. . We applied for a HUD apt. unit over 25 mos. ago and were supposedly put on a 2 yr. waiting list which we checked on a couple times durin' the supposed two years, and even checked last in March, and were told both times that our waiting list status was good, but when it came down to 23 mos. out and I went by their office da once again check our status because they were supposed da contact us about a mo. ahead a the 2 yr. limit which they did not do, I was told by the mgr. that she couldn't find an application with either my or my friend's name on it yo dude and y'all!! . . Yeah, I know, BIG BUMMER, HUH!? . . Well, after some careful consideration and thought, I decided da re-apply there because we need the rent break!! . . We both may be around 100 by the time we ever get approved there, or disapproved officially, but we are lookin' at other HUD or HUD related rentals, as well yo tomodachi, mi compadres, my friends!! . .
