Good morning Melanie. It’s hurt when you’re younger. I have you gone through with a psychiatrist and counseling or therapist. My sexual abuse wasn’t until I was a young adult. I ended up in psychiatric hospitals the state hospital. The state hospital helped me so much I was out in seven weeks. I did all the work to come back to be myself again. I was in the partial hospitalization program. Plus counseling and other programs to help me going through all the hurt and anger I had towards my husband. He was. Very sick person. I left I’m in 1991. I hope you get the help you need. Hugs

I removed the mirror when at my worse, also broke a few. I don’t think it helped a lot I think talking with people and finding others I forced myself to try to interact with them and then feeling comfortable around them is what helped the most, although I just moved so I need to start to force interactions again. They say get comfortable doing uncomfortable things and meeting new people is very uncomfortable for me. But when you find a few you feel comfortable with it does really help

I went through this. I was emotionally sexually abused as a child and neglected. One therapist told me what I was seeing in the mirror was the abuse and not my true self. That made sense and helped me a lot.

Shelly:
First of all I believe your image on the inside of you is far more important than your outside image.

secondly do you attend a church or have any religious places you attend??? These people may be helpful to you if so,

Thirdly,
Is the reason you don't have a doctor or counselor at the moment due to lack of funding???
If that is the case try reaching out to a hospital social worker & ask for help.

Forth & final:
You are a precious child of Heavenly Father & he loves you no matter what, not by imagine, not by your mental state, or anything else. Heavenly Father loves you for everything you are inside, outside & all around. He is there for you always, especially when the world around you is not.

Hope this is helpful towards you, you will be in my prayers 🤲🙏.
