Call the American Bar Association office nearest to you, and ask them for recommendations, Julie.

I went through it twice. Im.56 I've run 2 companies in my life. A special needs company along side the Founder/Executive Director for 20 years. After relocating up north trying to rekindle my marriage it lasted 6 weeks I was homeless back in Bklyn living on 3rd ave. After I got myself to keep taking the cocktail of medication my psychiatrist put me on I then assisted running a fortune 500 plumbing company for 4 boroughs of NYC. Due to six years of extreme stress I resigned having a severe breakdown. After a few years I relocated again to be closer to my children. I was in no frame of mind to do what I did my whole life. So I tried retail and was let go twice. It was a blow to my self esteem and im so sorry that anyone has to go through that.

So sorry that you are going through this. I know someone who was hired and working a lot hours but they did background check and was fired right on the spot.

How can someone background not effect present status? It is like your past haunts you for the rest of our lives

Well, they just let me go saying no misconduct but I just wasn't up to standards after 4 months. What attorney would fight that?

With proof you would have a strong case for discrimination
