Since opting to change from Lexapro 3 years ago, it has been and up and down battle. Now I am on sertraline but still struggling. I just feel so frustrated. With the Lexapro, it has always helped me enough to function, feel happy and enjoy life. I am so desperate to get back to that and find my way. I'm sorry to anyone else who is suffering, this is not at all a fun way to live. 😞

If anyone's behavioral health care providers have this as an option, ask if they have and will order the GeneSight DNA blood test. I believe in modern science, but I'm amazed the test provides a custom list of what your best medicinal recommendations, moderate and little to no effect.

It's helped my psychiatrist and myself try and rule out what does and doesn't work, coupled with whatever the hell I was prescribed before with little to no real diagnostics or testing.

It may not be suited for everyone, but it provides a bit of a goal. More than I had prior.

Ty for your responses, I do talk with my provider and like you, I cannot function without the meds. It's so frustrating to struggle so much. I just feel like I am missing out on so much in life. :(
I hope your guys day is going well !!

Hi StaceyAnn, I have been on Cymbalta forever and it dudn't seem to do much if anything fer me anymore but if I try goin' off it I simply go through a horrible withdrawal which lasts a very long time and absolutely leaves me exhausted and extremely depressed!! . . I would say to discuss your situation with the doctor who prescribed you the sentraline and tell her how you're feeling, I.e. just say what you have said here and ask for feedback and direction from her or him . . My best peace, love, and good vibes to you, dear one, and feel free ta reach out ta me anytime for anything yo friend. . I expect that we can help each other in this admittedly very tough way of life. . Cool Cat Sam(uelito) Isamu Supensa, Spencer. .

There are many other drugs available. I went from Cymbalta to Celexa. The transition was difficult but now back on base. Left because of the excessive perspiration issue. Discovered more genetic than fault of the meds. Celexa does a good job. Will stick with it.
