Parents can be wrong. Parents also have problems dealing with children that have a mental illness. Depending on your parent's ages, mental illness was not accepted. They didn't believe it was a medical problem but a personal weakness. You are old enough now, to talk to a therapist and learn how to get your parent's voices out of your head. You are an adult, with help, you can achieve that. It takes time but it is possible to stop the self hatred. Good luck with the process.
