Has anyone gotten a pet specifically a dog to help their depression? I want one but don't want the extra responsibility and cost as I'm unsure i can handle it. Did anyone else every go through this??

Yes I certainly do. And I adore dogs. They are wonderful company, entertaining, and something to love. I don't feel so lonely. Always willing to let you hug and kiss them. And it is nice to have someone to take care of. Gets you out of bed or off the couch to let them out. They ended my very sedentary lifestyle by going on walks, too.

Yes, I have a cat. She is my world. She helps me so much. Emotionally supportive. She lays on me and it calms me down. I can't imagine life without her. She has lived with me a couple different places and has been through a lot with me. Cats are more independent than dogs

My dog gives me so much, as a puppy she made me move. Demanding outs, exercise, snuggles, unconditional love.
