I was diagnosed with having anxiety and depression after my mother died should I be on antidepressant meds for it since I haven't been on it in a year since she died
I would talk with a therapist (physician or social worker) and reach a decision together. Some of us need antidepressants while others can get by without them. A professional will have some very good input. Remember, just as we take antibiotics for infections, or insulin for diabetes, some of us need medication for depression. There should be no stigma attached to that.
I agree with what other people are saying if you have a primary or a psychiatrist. Good luck, please let us know how you are doing. thanks HUGS Christine
Anti depression meds work differently for everyone. They can be taken temporarily to get you through a hard time. Ask your doctor what they think.
