My Doctor prescribed Effexor to me a week ago due to my depression was getting worse. They took me off zolof because it was giving me a massive headache but reading all the review about this drug I haven't taken any of it because I am afraid of having bad side effect. What should I do? What Kind of Side of effect does anyone have and did it help anyone on here? I also have anxiety about taking any type of medications,

I've been on Effexor XR for many years and have no real side effects from it at all. If I forget to take the meds one day, I do have very strange dreams that night but that's It! Hope it works as well for you!

I was on Effexor for 20 years with no problems. However it did get to the point that it stopped working and I have changed meds to two more anti-depressants.

The only real side effect I suffer from is dry mouth, A good moisturizing mouthwash helps. I don't think today is the best day to tal about it's effectiveness, since it hasn't been my best day, but I assure you medication can at least tae the edge off, and some days better.

I was on Zoloft for 10 yrs, and on Effexor now for 13. So Effexor has a discontinuation syndrome if you stop it too quickly. If I’m late or miss a dose I can definitely feel bad. However I find Effexor to be a much more effective med than Zoloft was. A more powerful antidepressant imho.
