I've been taking Buspirone for a little while now, i can take it as needed, as it doesnt NEED to build up in blood, like many other meds. Its not incredibly strong, so i dont have that dopey feel that other meds gave me, and which i hated. I try to use CBT and exercise to help with my anxiety (& Box breathing).

Anxiety is very common alongside depression, and there are several medication options that doctors may consider. Finding the right one can take time, and it's always best to work closely with a doctor or psychiatrist to figure out what suits you best.
Here are some commonly prescribed options:
- SSRIs (like Prozac, Zoloft, or Celexa) — often a first choice, generally well-tolerated
- SNRIs (like Cymbalta or Effexor) — similar to SSRIs but also help with focus and brain fog
- Benzodiazepines (like lorazepam or clonazepam) — help calm the brain quickly, but are usually for short-term use
- Bupropion (Wellbutrin) — an antidepressant that also helps some people with anxiety, and notably doesn't cause sexual side effects
- Antipsychotics (like Seroquel or Abilify) — sometimes added when other medications aren't enough
Never start, stop, or change your dosage without talking to your doctor first, as sudden changes can make you feel worse.
Therapy, especially Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), is also highly effective and works well alongside medication.
