When I go to bed I have to turn on the fan, put on rain sounds or Celtic music in order to try to sleep. Without either of those I struggle with sleep.

Members shared their nightly bedtime routines in response to the question about winding down for sleep, with many describing personal rituals that help signal the brain it's time to rest. Several members mentioned habits like brushing teeth, washing their face, taking medications, prayer, reading, meditation, and listening to music or rain sounds, while some also rely on CPAP machines or melatonin supplements. A recurring theme was that having even a simple, consistent routine makes falling asleep easier, though many admitted they are still working on finding what works best for them.

I usually try to do some meditation and listen to music to wind down.

I don't really have a good routine but I'm working on it. The medication I'm on for depression seems to be helping me sleep better. I am a night owl and it seems like my brain really wakes up in the evening. I always wish I had more time to do things when I can think clearly so it's hard to stop and get ready for bed. I was staying up till around 1am or sometimes later when I'm trying to finish a good book. Now I've finally gotten to where I'm going to bed around midnight and waking up around 7ish to 8 am. I've been taking the Natrol Melatonin to help me get to sleep but I tend to wake up around 4, 5, 5something, 6.... etc. I planning on doing yin yoga for 30 min before bedtime. I think that will help me sleep better because it's so relaxing.
