I try to listen or read one story a day. Accomplish some mini goal like getting an award for completing an online course, medal for marksmanship, baking something or specific task in the yard. It may be the only thing I do in a day or if needs be, longer. I try to find mini tasks.

Members responded to a question about finding feelings of accomplishment by sharing small but meaningful daily wins that help them stay grounded. Several members described practical strategies like walking dogs, cooking creative meals, tending gardens, volunteering, and journaling completed tasks with dates as their own personal celebration. A recurring theme was lowering the bar with kindness, where simply getting out of bed, making it through a hard day, or finishing one small task counted as a real and worthy achievement.

I feel accomplished if I simply get today's needs taken care of.

I try to take my dog out every day. It’s good for both of us

I make a mental note of the things I want to accomplish and tick them off in my mind as I go through my day. These are usually easy things for me - I don't set the bar very high. Getting out of bed, making the bed, washing the dishes, getting dressed. Anything else is a bonus!

When I cook something delicious or gobish reading another book. Sometimes talking to a friend is an accomplishment, as I have a strong desire to isolate. Going to my volunteer job at the humane society and seeing how many hours I've put in there

I'm rewriting the end of my book. Or I would be, if I had the least bit of desire to write.
