The last couple of nights, I would find myself sleeping well, but wake up feeling sad and have a hard time falling back asleep. Is that normal?

Members connected over the deeply relatable experience of waking up sad and struggling to fall back asleep, with many sharing that depression and anxiety can make mornings especially difficult because they require summoning the energy to face another day. Several members emphasized the importance of seeking professional help, sharing their own experiences with therapists and psychiatrists who helped them understand underlying conditions like Mixed Anxiety-Depression Disorder, work through social anxiety, and process life-altering experiences such as medical relapses. A recurring theme was the exhausting daily battle to find motivation and keep going despite feeling beaten down, met with encouragement to keep seeking support, take things one step at a time, and remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

When I was suffering with depression, you know nighttime was comforting cause you could go to bed, but in the morning it’s still you know even without suffering with depression can be a tough time because you’ve got to get up. You have to keep moving and sometimes we don’t have that will especially with depression when we have to force ourselves to get out of bed could be some underlying issues going on also to get the right treatment deal dealing with things in your life could be a lot of issues going on so you might have to look at some things that are causing you restless this morning .

That is a very good question. Today I woke up @ 3:55 AM to use the bathroom, and then I couldn't fall back to sleep. Now, did I feel sad? It's hard to say.

I fully understand every day I wake up trying to find a reason to get me some kind of will to keep going and it's so hard to find a reason or anything that could motivate me to do so an the only thing I could think of is I'm beat up tired alone and abuse but no matter what I'm not weak enough to let anyone finish me off because I no I'm strong an life lesson has made me wiser still I can't be happy and am not sad I'm just here.
