If venlafaxine = Effexor, take everyone's advice and try not to miss a dose. Take it as soon as you've realized you missed it.

And whatever you do, please don't try to stop it cold turkey because the withdrawal symptoms are worse, much worse than the side effects.

I was on it for 15 months before I begged my previous psychiatrist to find something else. Even titrating the dose lower until he deemed it safe for me to stop. The withdrawal symptoms lasted 2-3 months.

But, this is me, it may or may not work for you, but discussing it with your prescriber, especially if it's affecting you negatively, is of paramount importance.

Yes, but not sure if it would cause this symptom that quickly. I was on this for years and whenever I would accidentally miss a dose, I would start getting what felt like "brain zaps" and brief periods of dizziness within a few hours.

I was on it for about 9 months. I couldn't tell a difference

Would you believe, nearly 8 years since I've stopped Effexor (venlafaxine) and every once in a while, usually during an anxiety attack, I'll still get the damned brain zaps. It's like I can "feel" my eyes when they move. Very annoying and unnerving.
