If you can find it in your area, I can't recommend Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation which is indicated for treatment-resistant depression. Too tired to really go into too much detail now, but I'd be glad to share my and my wife's successful treatment.

I really appreciate your recommendation. I am so glad for you and your wife. I would love to try tms. The problem is I can’t afford tms and my insurance does not cover it. So discouraging.

The antidepressants either don't work or stop working all together after you've been taking them for a while.

As far as I've been aware, if you've failed to experience improvements over the course of two years and two meds, that's what is considered "treatment-resistant" and got me qualified for TMS.
