Members responded with heartfelt empathy to someone feeling unwanted after reaching out to their mom on Mother's Day, with many sharing their own painful experiences tied to the holiday. Several members described losing a parent or child and how the day brought deep grief, while others opened up about family distance, feeling like the 'black sheep,' and struggling with lifelong trauma. A recurring theme was the importance of putting yourself first, seeking support, and knowing that you are not alone in finding this day emotionally overwhelming.

My mom is gone and I really felt lost yesterday without her.

Yes I have bunches of difficulty dealing with Mother’s Day. Dealing with a lifetime of trauma makes me feel like I shouldn’t have honored my parents. I don’t go to church on that day or Father’s Day. I can’t handle all the emotions and things that are part of the services. We can’t attend church in person now anyway but those two days especially are too tough on me.

Did you ask your Mom if she didn't want to hear from you? Sometimes when we are depressed we hear what people are saying isn't really what they said or expressed in their tone of voice.

Thsnk you for your kind support. I don't talk to my siblings or my dad much. Sadly, I feel like the " black sheep" of my family

Maybe u need switch ur meds. Then feeling the way u do about ur mom doesn’t help any. Just try to get better before you try to communicate with her. Do u have other family, siblings, what about ur dad. Sweetie just put u first for now , eventually u will get better. Please try to stay healthy and strong
