If it is a physical energy insomnia: I clean the house or exercise to wind down.
If it is a brain won't shut-up thing: I try to find a way to educate it so it is not left off a leash and bad thoughts and old ways creep in! I love to code, read, write creatively, social media blogs, etc. I want to add Astronomy but need to start with a good pair of Binoculars or so I hear before a Telescope.

One good coping mechanism is the tense and release method. You tense and release to a slow rhythm each muscle starting from the top or bottom of the body and working your way up or down!
This calms the body for sleep and anxiety! It can help you relax in anxiety-producing situations too from practice you can force your body to let go of fight or flight symptoms. I started using it about 10 years ago. There is also the Monks' method of counting to 10 if you reach 10 without another intrusive thought they think you have reached Nirvana! It is hard to get past 4 for me!

How do I feel in the morning?
I have terrible insomnia. I have to take 7.5 mg of Mirtazapine and 1.0 mg of Alprazolam, but I am trying to reduce the Alprazolam because it is very habit-forming.
I take trozodone also but it doesn’t work that good for me anymore, I take 100 milligrams, how about u ?
