Members shared a wide range of natural remedies that help manage their depression, with movement and exercise emerging as the most commonly mentioned strategy, including walking (even brief 5-minute outings), running, swimming, yoga, and gym workouts. Several members described how faith, prayer, meditation, spending time in nature, caring for pets (especially dogs and cats that require daily routines), and creative outlets like cooking, crafting, reading, journaling, and music provide emotional relief and structure. Recurring themes included the importance of staying busy, connecting with others (whether friends, family, or online communities like this one), using supplements like St. John's Wort, SAM-e, CBD, magnesium, and vitamin D, practicing mindfulness techniques, getting sunlight, and giving oneself grace on difficult days when motivation is low.
