A therapist suggested treating ourselves the way we would care for someone we love.

Bible study, prayer, music both listening and playing, naps when I'm tired, healthy food, exercise, friendships, family...

Self love, took me a long time to learn this. Out in the streets I would tell people I'm only hurting myself with the drugs.my excuse was I didn't like me.so if I didn't like me how am I supposed to like (love) you. It all starts with you. I sat in front of a mirror told myself over @ over I love me I'm worth it and more. I am loveable. Years of doing this than one day it came so naturally. Today I love God first,. Than myself,.than. I have enough love for you.

Geoff to overcome depression we need to learn self love, as lack of self love is a strong source for depression and possibly one of the main roots that contribute to this illness

I tend to write a lot. Especially anything that I don't feel secure saying out loud to anyone. I also tend to lose myself in music for a while.
