Is It Recommended To Start A Serious Relationship When Struggling With Depression ?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

In past experiences, revealing the details of my mental health issues has hindered and even ended romantic relationships. I found that most people will avoid getting involved if they find out about the downfalls of my depression. Any advice ? Should just avoid discussing it or void serious relationship during this time of restructuring ?

I didn’t talk about my depression right away. I let him get to know me first. However I did talk about it early in the relationship. He needs to know what my lows look like and that there’s nothing her can do to help. If he’s not understanding of you, then he’s not the right one. Good luck!!

Avoid discussing it in the beginning anyway until u get to know them better. Take your time. Sending light.🌠

Do what you feel is best for you. I'm not in a relationship, and don't intend to be because of various factors, including mental health, but if you want to be in one, find the right person who will understand and not walk away just because this is a part of you and and part of your life.
