@A MyDepressionTeam Member...you are much stronger than I am in this situation, I am okay being alone until I KNOW I can fully trust someone. I know now that trying to get my trust back while with the person who destroyed it won't work for me. I am in a place in my life where I can just accept it now and live my life for me and my son!!!! If I meet someone great if not that's ok too. ππ
You may have been hurt. I had the same problem... It was out of control. I went through his stuff, drilled him with questions and accusations, etc. One day I decided I couldn't be like that anymore. I can't explain it. I realized that thinking about it was what was fueling my jealousies/insecurities. I guess I came to the conclusion that the lack of trust itself was causing him to not want to commit, and if I just appreciated his part of the relationship, he would want to commit. I also concluded that if something were to happen, it would eventually come to light, even with my trust. I don't have those feelings of distrust anymore. I look back, and it was like I was just digging my own hole. He didn't trust me either. I explained to him.... If you accuse me off stuff, fight with me, make me miserable, I will seek happiness elsewhere. If you trust me and enjoy our time together, I won't seek anything else. We trust each other now, but now we fight about money π Hope things get better for you!
