ECT does not hurt. You are mildly sedated to the point that you are not aware of what is going on. I have had several treatments, inpatient and outpatient. However it does effect you short term memory but that returns to normal very soon.

I'm sure it did. Good thing she did. I don't want to freak you out...but a tooth abscess can kill you if it gets to the brain.
I know what the radio frequencies are. I've seen then done with good success. And it helps. I have thought of doing it myself. I had a patient fall on me in 1996. I had spinal shock for 18 months. Learned to recall. But with the discs that are gone in my back I have trapped nerves too. So I know where you are coming from. My husband has been through the ringer with me. And we are still together.
Please let me know how the frequencies work for you. I would be most interested in the outcome for myself. To know if I should push my own doctor more about it.

For me it did hurt. But I'm told I'm over sensitive. Every person is different, as you know. And we all have different levels of pain that can be tolerated. I used to be a mental health nurse. So I have seen it done where patients have been sedated, some with nothing at all. And everyone is different. Electroconvulsive therapy can be painless. But it all depends on who the doctor is and how they perform the therapy.
If you are afraid of it. I would ask to be slightly sedated. I was terrified when I was actually the one having the test.
I'm just being as honest as I know how.

Memory loss was severe, it never returned. It has only gotten worse, but that could be medication side effects. The etc worked well and lasted several years...being depression free. I hope the best as you make a decision.
