Sleep is a cherished commodity. 99.9% of people can sleep in level or another. Us few are extremely rare and can’t be helped no matter what medience can do. Ex: look what happened to Micheal Jackson or Actor Heath Ledger. They tried to sleep anyway they could and it’s cost them their lives. Lack of sleep will eventually kill someone in the most extreme circumstances. I hope the best for you. My life expectancy is been reduce do to sleep problems. Don’t let it happen to you or anyone else. God bless of ya!

Hello all I'm new here. I probably have the worst sleep problems just short of fatal insomnia. It started about three months ago with losing from 6 hrs at night to 1-2 hrs if was lucky in the amount of days then. No known cause or stressful event to cause it. I also started to lose weight pretty quickily from 310 to 260 in 8 weeks. I have been to hospital 4 times in that time period for all the usual test (CBC,lipids,CT scan, MRI, thyroid, liver, EKG, ultrasound of corodid artery and heart, X-ray's, autoimmune, vitamin defs, and 80 more specialized tests. Nothing was found. I've take Thorizine, Vistril, Gabapentin, Trazadone, Restoril, Buspar, @Risperdal, melatonin, Kolonpin, @Ativan 5mgs at night, Benedryl, and many other meds and now on Seroquel 300mg and @Remeron at 45mg. And those only get me some 2-4 hrs asleep at high doasges. I was sleep deprived for 31 days and my body started to shutdown. The last hospital stay the Dr's gave me surgical anesthesia by IV that would knock a 400lb. person out for aleast 12+ hrs to no avail. I think I broke the 11 days being up straight record by a mile. So the vast majority of ya are lucky. Having a good night sleep is my holy grail to find. So don't stress out about it. Even had a blood test for prion disease for Fatal Insomina done and sent to Univ. of Chicago for genetic testing
and was negative. So sleep disorders would be the least of some peoples worries. Hope all can sleep, I'll be up with a pot of coffee in the morning.. Thanks, nite all.

WOW! I can't imagine not sleeping. i mean 3-4 am is the latest if i have troubles. but only because i nap a lot. i can't keep my eyes open to even try to stay up sometimes. i'd surely fall asleep standing up. and if i could stay up weird stuff happens to me pass 4am lol. thoughts, dreams, etc. i take Effexor. and it's helped a lot. the others barely helped any. but my body is getting used to it already and its only been a couple weeks, so i probably have to take more of it. but it helped me with clearly going forward, but i forget still. i got several sleeping disorders. they suck. so what do you do when you dont sleep? i wonder what it could be that keeps you up like that. maybe something fighting with your chemicals. i know my body can fight medications. but i think also its a lot like trying to quit smoking or quitting anything, you got to at least want to. if you're too dependent on it then nothing will help it. i know this with my depression and anxiety. i got to fight it, not let it fight me.
