I moved away so I did not have to take care of my mother anymore. Nichelle needs to take care of herself now,children is grown so it is time I take care of me. My sister's would not take care of my mother.

If your brother does it... but won’t let you forget it... let me ask this... do you feel your brothers care is good and healthy for your Dad? Is your dad better off?

If so, let your brother talk all he wants. The way I see it, your only reply is, I love you and thank you so much. And maybe, when Dad is gone... you will have no regrets.

I took care of my mom the last 2 months ... we did not know it was her last two, so as far as I knew, there was no time frame. I have family members who most definitely had the income and better opportunity to do it, but just refused. I did not complain or place expectations... it would’ve fallen on deaf ears. And I had to use my energy taking care of her and my family. When we lost her... I found so much peace and had zero regrets. Zero

I am very fortunate to be very close with my brother. There is only the two of us in the family. Even though my brother lives one hour away, he is always supportive. I found this out a few years ago when my father was in the hospital. I needed to speak to my brother about dad's treatment plan and he was always available to speak to me. As my brother works in the city that I live in, he was able to visit my dad and speak to the doctors. Even though I have a stepmom, she is not good in handling emergencies. It was very comforting to know that my brother was there for me, both on the phone and in person. For those of you who are not close to your siblings, I understand your anguish and pain. I pray for all of you with sick parents. May G-d heal everyone and give you strength to get through this ordeal.
