Members connected over the fear of others finding out about their mental illness, with many sharing painful experiences of being abandoned or bullied after opening up. Several members offered encouragement, emphasizing that self-education and knowledge about one's condition can be a powerful tool for breaking stigma and setting others straight. A recurring theme was the importance of self-acceptance and pride in being different, with many reminding each other that ignorance from others reflects their limits, not yours.

Some people are scared if you can say to them it is okay to be a little scared but please don't forget or ignore me because I am a little scared too. Some people will ignore you it does hurt but you realize that there ignorance can hurt to begin with but you make other friends real friends not ignorant swines like those that just turned their back on you. Don't be scared, u have nothing to be scared of. You r only different, not abnormal at all. People are ignorant so u must have power. Knowledge is power so research your condition as much as possible so that u can set people straight wen they make some stupid comment. I'm proud to be different n consider it a gift (of sorts) as it's allowed me to be more human n understand others who r suffering so very much. Take care my friend n remember be proud of who u r. U don't get another life so make the most of this one. Hugs for u

U different that's all. If u build up your own self esteem what other people think doesnt matter. People are naturally scared of what they don't know, like sheep!!! Knowledge is power. If u have the knowledge of your condition then u have the power to put them straight. I'm proud to be different n not shy of telling ignorant people what they should know so they don't make the same mistake again. Take care n hugs for u

I don't like admitting I'm afraid of people. I'd rather say i don't like them.
