I simply force myself to get up. I tell myself I HAVE to. 2 years ago I attempted suicide after spending a week in bed. I woke up thinking "I just can't take another day of this!" So now I make myself get out of bed even if it's only to go to the recliner and have a cup of coffee. I feel like I'm "up" and even if I spend most of the day in the recliner, I'm distracted by tv and my computer.

I tell myself to get up just for 5 minutes and then start washing up. If I have to work it makes me get up. I don’t love to work but if I don’t I get more depressed

I feel the same way Michelle , I force myself to get up and do the same .make myself a coffee which at times is even hard to do , then I sit in my chair and watch TV and get on my computer to distract me for the rest of the day. I go to sleep praying that I won't wake up the next day ..
