A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

I feel tired, sluggish and slow on them on know it's early days but I work and have a toddler to look after, what should I do carry on and see if it changes or stop them and get back to doctors on Monday . Any advice welcome, thank you x

Sleep when you can, don't be too proud to ask for help, house cleaning, babysitting, take a sick day if you can. Allow the tablets to get into your system and then stabilise you. Give it 6 weeks, if no change see your Dr. he may reduce the mg or change meds, but initially it does take a little while before you see results.

@A MyDepressionTeam Member the sedation I described is more you are slower at responding & functioning but you can sense that. Luckily, I it doesn't make me drowsy that I nod off first thing in a morning, as that was my concern cos I go to bed around midnight and am up for work at 7am. The drowsiness where I start to nod off comes around an hour before i'm due to take my next dose, just something to be wary of if you take in the evening. Hope you benefit from it x

I'm on 45mg of murtazapine which I take with 300 of venlafaxine. I find taking them really helps. I was tired for the first 2 weeks, then got better. It's the same with most meds; the first two weeks are the worst. I've been on them for over a year now. Keep going with them, if you're still struggling after a month maybe then go back to your doctor/ psychiatrist.
