I don't think it's normal and I also don't think you're going to feel depressed for the rest of your life, Your grieving your not depressed.

Well, I lost my son and both parents within 2 years of each other. That was 3 years ago. I still have yet to process it. I don't even let myself feel it. I'm terrified to.i hope not. I want to feel better, but idk how to yet

My mother died just over a year ago and I became depressed a few months later, I always had a 'touch' of depression but not like this. I did contact a grief counselling service which I attended for 12 wks and it genuinely helped. I still don't think I'm 'over it' I think I have learned to deal with the grief and understand my feelings a little more. But I am struggling with the depression that has remained as it feels more overwhelming, maybe because the one person I felt I could talk to openly without feeling guilty about feeling depressed has gone. My advice is to see about some grief counselling it might not fix everything but it can help.

You're not going to be depressed for the rest of your life. My father died and I was my old self in less than a year.

Grief has a 7 year span so I have been told. Your mind works through this. I know it's a cliché but on personal experience, time is a healer.
