Diabetes And Current Depression Meds?

My last blood work showed that my blood sugar was 12.1. I had been tired and sleepy more often than not since about October or November. The psychiatrist needed to check my thyroid but that wasn't it at all. I have to go and see my family doctor tomorrow afternoon. I am 90% I am full blown diabetic now as I am going to the bathroom more often than not and drinking more and more water and fluids than is normal for most people. I also am still very very tired and sleepy.

No need to be sorry. I appreciate it when people's "mother mode" kicks in, in a positive, encouraging and supportive manner.

I am diabetic that a1c is way to high could lead to coma or stroke. Change diet right away. No sugar at all whole grain bread less starches more fresh fruit and no sweet drinks no cakes popcorn ok. Don't think wit a1c that high metformin going to work but with diet change and losing weight is the best start

Some medication can cause pretty wild swings in blood glucose levels. You may need an addition to your metformin or a higher dosage.

@A MyDepressionTeam Member I have been trying really hard to watch my diet and have been seeing a dietitian. I have to go and see the NP today to find out if I am diabetic now. I will let you know what happens today and everything after that. I would appreciate any pointers I can get.
