Hi all,

Over the past two weeks I have suddenly had trouble sleeping at night, or rather I find myself afraid to sleep at night. I'm fine during the day, just not at night. I've never been afraid of the dark, and I'm not sure what this is. I don't know what may have triggered it either.
I do suffer from nightmares/flashbacks because of PTSD, I have for ten years, but they have never made me afraid to sleep in the dark.

Does anyone else have this problem or know what it is?

I found a mindfullness app called Calm and I sometimes listen to it at night to help me sleep.

There are many reasons for insomnia. I suffer through it often because of my disabilities. But when pain, or the brain refuses to shut down, I get as comfy as I can and just start praying or talking to God. I never remember falling asleep but I do. Don't lay there and toss. Get out of bed. Keep tv and such off and go to another room to read or journal your thoughts. This should relax you. If it gets serious see your doctor.

it may be your mind connects with the nightmares and flashback happen when its dark or that your bed causes them
