I'm 25 years old and I was diagnosed with depression when I was 22, but I think I've always lived with this disease. I am taking medication since that time. Sometimes I feel that I will never be able to stop taking meds.

I am 58, & have been on meds for over 30 years. They have been changed from time to time, but have always needed them. I've tried to go off of them gradually but it never worked. I've discovered that taking medicine the rest of my life is so much better than living in the pits of hell. You are NOT a weak person because you take them, as some people might make you feel, you are are actually quite strong, by acknowledging that your body needs them to function. Not an easy thing to do

Well said Gaile ! It's so great that you can cope with the fact of how you feel, and if you need the meds, then you will take them. Of course it's better than living in the pits of hell ! ! ! You have definitely chosen the right road. I hope you're proud of your ability. I think it's great. Hugs, Leah x

I have made peace with the fact that need to take medication for the rest of my life, I also know that if I exercise, set properly, gobtobtherapy, take care of me not neglect forget about myself I remain in a better space. No hospital admissions no extra meds.
