I don't completely understand what CBT is....like what transpires during the sessions? Is it on a weekly basis??
CBT concentrates on the now and what you are thinking at the moment. A lot of thoughts are learnt for example he or she does not like me as they have not spoken to you. You could challenge this by thinking they must have something on their mind, they may have their own issues or make your own mind up.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is about challenging your negative thoughts about yourself. For example when you walk into a room and everyone is talking and your feel no one is talking to you. You feel everyone else is better than you without any evidence to say otherwise. That is your self worth talking. So I would say they know each other and therefore It is not all about me. Also, it takes time to get to know people.
My councillor said they take ure brain apart and put it back together?
cbt is about learning how your thoughts work,, it is one of the steps in learning how to deal with those thoughts that have such a negative impact on your life,, you dont have to have "sessions" to understand cbt,, all it is that recognising that the thoughts that you have can be changed by the way that you think of them,, all it really is is why am i feeling this way,,
