Okay so as part of my recovery from self harm people said to use the rubber band method
But I was on Pinterest and seen this http://pin.it/aFXe3M8
Does that mean that I'm still self harming?
@wanttobeinvisible. ..you are doing so well although I suspect you won't agree....using an elastic band sounds helpful n less harmful than cutting...sending hugs...xxx
I would say that it is stepping stone away from the direction of self harm.Yes you get a pain response anything that strikes your skin will give you that but you aren't engaging in the act of cutting so that is a credit to you. Anything can be considered self harm, depriving your body of food whether you intend to do so or not for example missing your lunch break at work cos you're too busy.Don't let someone's pinterest detract you from this positive step.Remember what you interpret from that image is different to other people.Take care and 🖐
It could be said that it is self harm; but pinging a rubber band on your wrist is surely a million times better than cutting? I would not worry about it. The thing is you are improving, that is the focus!
:( oh darling, I just want to hug your pain away! I have never told anyone this but I use to self harm, the way I stopped was I 'moved' away from the issue. I changed something in my life to make it better. Sometimes it is harder said than done. Hope you are ok sweetheart xoxo what's your email address? Lots of hugs xoxo
It does look like self harm but it is definitely better than cutting. If you feel the need to do it rubber bands are a lot less harmful. This being said it would appear any harm is not a good idea.
