Members opened up about the painful question of whether they feel they've let themselves, their families, and others down, with an overwhelming number sharing that this feeling is a constant, daily struggle. Many community members described feelings of being a burden, not measuring up, or blaming themselves for family conflicts and financial hardships, often tied to illness, depression, or caregiving challenges. A recurring theme was the tension between knowing you did your best and still feeling like it wasn't enough, with some members finding comfort in open conversations with their children or supportive partners.

Yes all the time. Just accept that you tried and don’t beat yourself up over it. My kids and I have talked about it now that they are older- 17 and 22. They are very supportive

I have always felt not good enough, but after my ‘illness’ my family has had to do so much to care for me and help raise my son. How could I not feel like a burden? I never finished college and I have both a brother and sister with more than one master degree each. I don’t add up.

Jane you r not ugly. We just live in a world of silence. My ex destroyed my life but at the end of the day, I was the Mom and Dad for a good 18yrs if not more. Everyone who knew my ex said I did good. My friends left because of my ex and my circumstances. Guys did not come near me because I had 3 kids. I have 2 good friends. That is it!

Constantly. I feel I'm a burden on my mom. She's 71 and on social security retirement.
