I just think there are more women that seem to open up about the issues of mental illness. Men, like myself, have them too and it is just as hard. But we are told from birth that men do not talk or show emotions. I really wish this would change.
I agree..men go through mental illness just as women and should talk about it, share and open up like anyone else..i believe anyone that may say "men should not...." is only denighing someone's right to be human. I think it takes a strong and brave person to open up and share/admit what they feel and think.
My boyfriends bipolar he don't take no meds for like 3yrs now he is always depressed an irritable lashes out at me can't even talk to him anymore

I agree I remember my mom taught her sons not to cry..even me when I wanted to cry she would say really are you going to cry felt hurt and confused about that but I'm happy to know more know it is an emotion that should not be ashamed of...its an important emotion I feel
