Have Any Of You Tried The 12 Months Single Thing?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been told that after the demise of my relationship I should try remain single for a year...because I have never been alone. The idea of no physical affection kills me. I am so scared of being alone.

Though that does raise the question of how can one expect that others love you if you are not able to love yourself?

Pets are great healers! Patting and cuddling a cat decreases your heartbeat, lowers your blood pressure, stimulates your senses and increase serotonin!!! I love my pets to bits...2 cats, 2 zebra finches and an aquarium of tropical fush...they bring me so much pleasure and joy, I would be lost without them!!! My eldest kitty is 16 in January. I've had him since he was 5 weeks old. He's been with me thru thick and thin!!! :-) 🐱🐈💖🐥🐣💖🐋🐟🐠🐬

I think it is a great idea. Until you can be happy with yourself by yourself you can't rally be happy with anyone else. At least in my opinion. After my divorce I waited two years and worked on being happy with me and getting my life together before I even considered dating seriously. Work on making some good friends and learn to do some things on your own and still enjoy them and you will be surprised how much better things are when you meet the right one. Best of luck!!
