I Am Wondering If I Can Use An Alias As Opposed To My Name, Due To Being A Mental Health Therapist In My Community?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

I work as a mental health therapist with a large and well known practice group in the area I live, and my profile name is also my professional name. I often will self-disclose with select patients about my own struggles with depression after a relationship has been developed, but I am concerned about the unfortunate negative stigma, even in the mental health community, about my name being linked to a depression site.

There is no real reason to disclose that is there? Illegal of employers to ask about health

Me too. I do not share with my patients. I agree there is stigma for us and i am sure i would lose my job if i disclosed.
