Call the psychiatric unit of your hospital aND ask what you need to do to get an official diagnosis. I needed to see a councillor and a psychiatrist to get my clinical diagnosis

Family doctors don't necessarily specialise in any certain field. Go somewhere where you can see a psychiatrist - they specialize in mood disorders and therefore can give a more accurate diagnosis and treatment.
