It sounds like today is bringing up a lot of anxiety, and that's completely understandable. Agoraphobia — the fear of leaving safe or familiar spaces — is actually a common experience for people living with depression, so you're definitely not alone in feeling this way.

Here are a few things that might help you get through today:

- Talk to nursing home staff — let them know you're feeling anxious. They may be able to arrange extra support or accompaniment for the trip.
- Focus on small steps — just getting ready, then getting to the car, rather than thinking about the whole outing at once.
- Breathing exercises — slow, deep breaths can help calm your nervous system when anxiety spikes.
- Remind yourself it's temporary — the appointment will end, and you'll be back in your safe space.

Getting that mammogram is a really important act of self-care, and it takes courage to push through anxiety to do it. You've got this! 💪

If the anxiety feels overwhelming, speak to a staff member or healthcare provider before you go — they may be able to help make the experience easier for you.
