Yesterday I went to an orientation for a job in Taco Bell and in the questions I had to take some sort of a exam I was getting a panic attack and anxiety with them crappy questions over and over again knowing myself I don’t think I will even last in this job. I was about to burst out crying and just leaving everything behind and worse it was just 2 hours and the girl and I didn’t finish that crap. Any advice

I found a new app to help with anxiety/ depression since my mind wonders too much during mindful meditation. It is called The tapping solution so while you are excused in the bathroom you can do a short meditation but your mind is occupied by the tapping as you learn coping strategies.

That sounds really overwhelming, and it's completely understandable to feel that way. Anxiety during high-pressure situations like job orientations is something many people with depression experience. You showed real courage just by showing up — that matters more than you might think.

That sounds really overwhelming, and it's completely understandable to feel that way. Anxiety during high-pressure situations like job orientations is something many people with depression experience. You showed real courage just by showing up — that matters more than you might think.

Here are some strategies that may help in stressful situations like that:

- Deep breathing — slow, controlled breaths can help calm your nervous system in the moment
- Grounding techniques — focus on 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you can hear to stay present
- Remind yourself it's temporary — the discomfort will pass, even when it feels unbearable
- Take small breaks — even a quick bathroom break can reset your nervous system

It's also worth talking to a mental health professional about what happened. They can help develop a personalized plan for managing anxiety in workplace situations. One MyDepressionTeam member shared this encouraging reminder: "Just do the best you can. You need to focus on getting better overall. You can always get another job, but you can't get another brain or body."

Be kind to yourself — one tough orientation doesn't define what you're capable of. 💙
