It comes down to money, and interest. If your community is big enough to have a mental health advocacy group, you likely will have meetings etc. I was sent to AA to sit in their meetings. Even though everyone was nice and accepting, i really didnt have a story about alcohol, so i did feel a bit awkward, especially after some of the stories those AA member told. But i would call your local hospital and see if they knew of anything.
I don’t know where you live and I’m not sure if there are group therapy sessions in my area either. I don’t know if you’re aware that people from this site are planning group conference calls I believe starting in September. I plan to try to join in.

I've noticed that as well. Not able to find any support groups for depression.
The only thing I know of is Nami. I live in a small city so there is a Nami virtual group. I have found that to be helpful but I am envious of the areas that have a local group.
