Members responded to a question about which depression medications work best by emphasizing that finding the right medication is a deeply personal process, often involving trial and error, since what helps one person may not help another. Several members shared their own experiences with medications like Pristiq, Wellbutrin, Trazodone, Cymbalta, and Citalopram, while one member encouraged the person asking to speak up boldly with their doctor about side effects and advocate for better care. A recurring theme was that support, self-advocacy, and even prayer can play an important role alongside medication in managing depression.

@A MyDepressionTeam Member, Hi! Not trying to be a Debbie Downer and say "nothing," but, when it comes to behavioral health medications, since everyone is totally different, one medication may be suitable for one, but not the other. I'm not saying it's a crapshoot, but this is a question better asked of your PCP or behavioral health practitioner.

Hi, well, medications for me are and have been just a stopgap, that is, they have been something to help me simply weather the storm, Heidi . . They have by no means been transformative . . Those are my thoughts based entirely upon my own experiences . . My best peace, love, and good vibes to you, my friend. . Sam . .
