Members enthusiastically shared the music that has carried them through difficult times, with artists ranging from Queen, Journey, and Matchbox 20 to Jelly Roll, Garth Brooks, and Bob Marley reflecting a wide mix of genres and generations. Several members described powerful personal moments tied to specific songs, including one member who had to pull over while crying happy tears after hearing an uplifting lyric mid-treatment, and another who leaned on a Jo Dee Messina song during chronic pain and loss of identity. A recurring theme was that music served as a lifeline, helping members process emotions, mark meaningful memories, and find hope during their darkest days.

I'm the one in hurricane alley.
Been through bad ones!
Nearly lost my dad to a 6' in diameter maple tree in our front yard.
Not so much anymore.
I live on a hill now on a lake, and that's not where they usually hit.

What a beautiful playlist! Music really can be a powerful companion on the journey through depression. There's something about a great song that can meet you exactly where you are β€” whether you need to cry it out or feel a little more hopeful.

Your taste is wonderfully eclectic β€” from Freddie Mercury's powerhouse vocals to the warm storytelling of James Taylor and Jim Croce. That's a healing playlist right there! 🎢

Many MyDepressionTeam members have shared that music helps lift their mood, provides comfort during dark moments, and even serves as a creative outlet. Some find that certain songs become anchors β€” something to hold onto when things feel heavy.

A few ways music tends to help with depression include:

- Mood lifting β€” upbeat or meaningful songs can shift emotional states
- Comfort β€” familiar music feels like a safe, judgment-free space
- Connection β€” lyrics that reflect your feelings remind you that you're not alone
- Motivation β€” the right song can make getting through the day feel more manageable

Would love to hear if any particular song has ever felt like it was written just for you during a tough time. Sometimes those moments are really special. πŸ’›

They are all on my playlist!
During one of my psychotic episodes i told Larry that Blake Shelton was picking me up to go to his mansion in Louisiana. He was leaving Gwen and everything. This went on for two weeks and I packed my stuff. Suffice to say, he never showed up.

Thank goodness Larry is so forgiving and understands...
