How has your ECT treatment gone today?

My next time is Friday May 15th. My psychiatrist tried to schedule my ECT once every 6 weeks like in the past but I was struggling as of recent. So he changed it once every 4 weeks. That will be my 128th treatment in May.

I wonder how many you have had over the years. I am sure not too many people have done over a 100 treatments. I could be a very unusual case. Last year I was doing ECT once every 2 weeks. So many ECTs I a year.

I know my psychiatrist is trying to cut me down. He realizes that I have had a lot of ECT treatments and he really wants me to do some sort of DBT therapy.

I tried to get into a PHP program but they wanted me to do a neuropsych test prior being accepted. And unfortunately I did not make the cut. And other PHP programs did not seem like a good program to go to. I tried to get into PHP but they did not want me to check my insurance to see if program is approved and wanted me to start right away. I thought that was way too short of a time frame.

And now I see a neurologist on Monday due to my decline in neuropsych testing results. Affecting my memory and cognition. I know that my health team is concerned with my brain health due to all the abuse of all the overcounter pills that I took in the past. I have taken so much Benadryl unisom, and Advil pm pills that it is not even funny. I also took a lot of NyQuil at once and ended up being hospitalized for it along with other self harm things.

As of now all my meds are all locked up in the basement. So I don't have any more close calls.

Have you had a lot of memory and cognition problems due to all ECT treatments you had over the years?
